As the Kings made their way through the realm, they were greeted by the rushing streams of Soma, which flowed like armies and carriages, bringing with them a sacred drink that would purify them. The drops of Soma had never grown weary, and they were fain to reach the highest realm of all, traveling over the ridges of the Earth and Heaven.

Indu, the most powerful of all the kings, held the wealth of kine, which he had seized from dark churls. He called forth the outspun thread, and the Devas rejoiced in its light.

The swift drops of Soma had been effused in streams of meath, the gladdening drink, for sacred lore of every kind. They had come to a newer resting place, bringing with them the ancient Living Ones, who had made the Sun shine down upon the land.

Indu was determined to bring the unsacrificing foeman’s wealth to his people and give them food with progeny. The living Somas being cleansed, diffuse exhilarating drink, turned to the vat which dripped with meath.

For Indra, Soma was cleansed, and the Devas hailed him as a feast-companion. When Indra had drunken draughts of this, he smote down resistless foes, smote them, and still shall smite them.

Indu was flowing to be Indra’s drink, victorious and hailed with joy. The drops of Soma were purified like floods rushing down a precipice, coming to Indra, who ruled over mankind.
